St. Paul students hit the kitchen of St. Paul College on Friday for a chance to give a new twist to their school lunches.

Eight teams face off in the St. Paul Public Schools’ “Cooking Up Change Challenge” to see which can create the best meal under the constraints school cafeterias face every day.

The winning entry will land on the district’s lunch menu, and its creators will earn a trip to Washington, D.C., for the national competition.
